To promote and maintain high professional standards for Latino professionals. To promote mentoring and professional development relationships and opportunities among Latino professionals practicing in the United States. The organization shall not, except to an insubstantial degree, engage in any activities or exercise any powers that are not in furtherance of the specific purposes described above.

All students, regardless of sex, race, color, or national origin, who are interested in the club’s mission are welcome.

The purpose of this organization is to

Increasing awareness of the students, faculty, and staff about the following:

a) Issues surrounding mental health

b) Symptoms related to mental health disorders

c) Mental health resources are available both on campus and in the surrounding community

d) Reducing stigma surrounding mental health disorders so that students will feel more comfortable openly discussing mental health-related issues and seeking help when it is needed

e) Supporting peers to find the skills and resources they need to increase health coping techniques that promote personal wellness

f) Providing a forum and building an open environment for all students to speak up about mental health

Active Minds California is the Active Minds State Organization. This Constitution governs the activities of the organization specific to CSUS.

Active Minds on Campus at California State University Sacramento shall endeavor to sponsor and conduct programs and activities that further the purposes and objectives of Active Minds and shall use its best efforts to ensure that such programs and activities are consistent with Active Minds stated values and mission.

Active Minds does not provide counseling or any form of clinical mental health care, Active Minds chapter is therefore not, nor will it ever form, a peer counseling or support group.
