Female Visage in Iran- reception & exhibit by Minoo S. Amini

Female Visage in Iran is a powerful exhibition by Minoo S. Amini that explores the complex realities of womanhood in contemporary Iran. Through narrative art, Amini sheds light on gender inequality, systemic oppression, and the ongoing fight for women’s rights following the death of Mahsa Amini and the protests that followed. Her work captures the resilience of Iranian women resisting forced veiling laws and patriarchal restrictions imposed since 1979. This exhibit invites viewers to reflect on the ongoing struggle for freedom, dignity, and justice. The exhibition will be held in the University Union Gallery at Sacramento State.
