Strategies & Opportunities for Community Engagement Leadership

In this interactive session, participants will learn how to implement Sac State’s new Community Engagement definition in their leadership work with community partner organizations. Presenters will share community engagement definition, values, strategies, and opportunities. The Community Engagement values threaded throughout the presentation will elevate diversity, equity, and inclusion both on campus and in our communities. These include Advancement of Social Justice and the Public Good, Equity-Oriented Collaboration, Reciprocal Partnerships, and Caring Interdependence. Grounded in these values, participants will engage in fun activities that help them develop equitable and collaborative approaches to their organization’s community partnerships. Volunteer opportunities that we will highlight include Semester of Service, Community Service Internship, and a variety of volunteer events the Community Engagement Center promotes each month.
