Students join clubs and organizations to meet people, have fun, and find a place to belong. Participants in the workshop Party Smart: Good Times, Safe Choices, will discover the components of groups that foster belonging while sipping a delicious mocktail. They will learn techniques for hosting social events that are inclusive and reduce health and safety risks. Tips for sober partying will be shared and participants will receive a free Mocktail Toolkit. Campus and community alcohol policies will also be defined and attendees will gain knowledge about essential alcohol risk reduction education, including serving sizes, blood alcohol concentration, and levels of impairment. They will understand the short and long-term effects of alcohol use and misuse, such as alcohol poisoning, impaired driving, academic impacts, and consent. Furthermore, students will learn about valuable resources available on and off campus that support harm reduction.

For accommodations, please email megan.piermarini@csus.edu no later than five (5) business days prior to the workshop and indicate which date you are wanting to attend.
