Student Health, Counseling & Wellness Services (SHCWS), in collaboration with the College of Health & Human Services’ (HHS) Center for Health Practice, Policy & Research (CHPPR), Associated Students, Inc., and community-based partner “CPR with Heart” are hosting Save a Life Day on Tuesday, September 23rd from 11am-2pm in the fountain area of the Library Quad. This is a drop-in event; no registration is required. CPR with Heart educators will provide hands-only CPR education and instruction on using Narcan (Naloxone) Opioid reversal medication. SHCWS will offer free flu shots for students as well as health and wellness education and resources – including how to make an appointment at the Basic Needs Resource Center. HHS will be on hand for students interested in health-related academic programs such as nursing, audiology, and physical therapy. Additional community partners such as Vitalant and Sierra Donor Services will be available to share about their services and promote registering as blood and/or organ donors. Participants will also be able to access mental health education and resources. All Sac State students, students, faculty and staff are invited to drop-in and learn how they can save a life and access services to keep our Hornet Hive healthy and informed. There will be swag and a free snack.
