The mission of this organization is to design and build a competitive BAJA SAE buggy and to provide hands on learning of product design, development, and engineering, while encouraging personal growth and fostering a supportive educational and social environment.
Baja SAE is where you stop doing schoolwork and start building something that has to survive the rigors of off-road motorsport! In one-year cycles, you participate in taking a concept through CAD, analysis, machining or hands-on fabrication, testing, then finally competition. Learn about welding, composites, wiring, data acquisition, and more. You'll pick up career skills; designing to a rulebook, managing projects, writing technical reports and defending your reasoning against real engineers. This isn't just for ME majors. Electrical and CS are needed for wiring, sensors, and control systems. Business, Communications, and Design majors run the show when it comes to sponsorship, branding, and events. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! Build your portfolio, make lifelong connections, and come experience the adrenaline rush of BAJA off-road racing!
