Mission The purpose of the California Geotechnical Engineering Association (CalGeo) Student Chapter at Sac State is to supplement students' academic education with a diverse exposure to geotechnical engineering. As one of only 7 student chapters in California, CalGeo at Sac State offers a unique and personalized opportunity to learn geotechnical engineering and related fields. CalGeo will participate in monthly meetings hosted by both the student chapter and the parent organization feature insightful presentations by professors, principal engineers, licensed geotechnical engineers, and licensed geologists. CalGeo members are supported by all of CalGeo through mentors, scholarships, and networking opportunities. Sac State works closely with ASCE's GeoWall team in funding a competing design at the annual MidPac Conference. CalGeo always welcomes new members to explore the field of geotechnical engineering.
