About Us
A. To carry out the objectives established in El Plan de Santa Barbara, El Plan de Aztlán, and the Philosophy of M.E.Ch.A.; B. To strive for social, educational, cultural, economic, and political empowerment within the Chicana/o Community; C. To encourage Chicana/Chicano student to seek higher education, graduate, and promote Chicanismo within the Chicana/o Community; D. To promote the retention of the Chicano student population on the Sac State Campus; E. To maintain and further the unity and involvement among the Chicana/Chicano students on the Sac State Campus; F. To promote our cultura and historia; G. To retain and advance our Chicana/Chicano identity; H. To maintain contact with the Penutian M.E.Ch.A. Central, the Alta Califas Norte M.E.Ch.A. Región, California Statewide M.E.Ch.A., and National M.E.Ch.A.
